Alexandera on the AZT 300

“It’s been 5 months since Alexandera raced the AZTR 800 and she finally rebuilt her bike for a tour of the southern 300 miles of the trail. Why so close to a hard effort? The shake down rides help her get her nerves calmed, experience a little sloth, and get acclimated to the terrain. They expect to ride 45 miles a day, or so, which is about half of what Alexandera and Johnny do during races. Stay tuned for a short video of their trip. Their AZTR Individual Time Trial started on April 10, 2023.” - Alexandera Houchin

We handed off a brand new Cane Creek Helm MKII 130 fork for the ITT start to her friend Connor who was visiting Austin. He rode an ITT to and was able to drop this off to her before the race!

This was her Sendero Ti setup for the ITT

The Baryak “Triple Crown” Light, GPS and Phone setup plus a rock solid mounting place for their ultralight handlebar bag. Note also the newly designed Dispersed Stem Bags in Leopard!

Alexandera also wrote a story about her AZT Tour and ITT on theradavist.com

BikeGearDataBase: Q & A on the Yaupon ATB

Take a deep dive into the details on the Yaupon ATB with Vince’s interview over at BikeGearDataBase. This was a fun opportunity to really nerd out on some of our design ideas and what the Yaupon is all about. Let us know what you think! We also shot a full gallery of photos on an amazing Yaupon Titanium build, enjoy!

Visit BikeGearDataBase here for the full interview.

Excerpt : “On the edge of ATB is a type of bike that we have jokingly started referring to as “grountain”. Grountain is definitely not our term but we think it effectively describes a more serious version of an ATB for endurance racing and deep backcountry single-tracking. Growntain is ATB on steroids.

The Yaupon fromChumba epitomizes this space. With its “adaptable” geometry the Yaupon can be set up as anything for anything—drop or flat bar, grinding gravel or flying down mountains, fully bagged or not. You decide. We absolutely love these unclassifiable bikes that are made to carry anything and go anywhere. We spoke with Vince Colvin the Director of Operations and Product Design at Chumba about the Yaupon and this specific titanium build that has us drooling all over our keyboard.”
