Sendero Steel Mountain Bike

Input from our factory team and our passion for technical singletrack have led us to design a refined downcountry / trail capable hardtail. The Sendero is built to excel in the varied untamed trails most of us have access to. Inspired to unlock the rock gardens and ledge lines we find across Austin’s rugged mountain biking trails. If you go out of your way to ride the hard line, we made this bike for you. The Sendero stands out from other bikes in the category with a higher bottom bracket and steeper seat tube than many other options. The reach is optimized for precise steering and stable descents. The Sendero represents a balanced and versatile offering in the burgeoning downcountry category, or loaded up for rugged bikepacking adventures.

    • The Sendero utilizes a short 420mm chain-stay & a long reach to position the rider to stick corners and pedal efficiently while keeping the bike incredibly playful.

    • Paired to the head tube and seat tube angles the design is made to confidently huck ledges and bomb descents.

    • A balanced Bottom Bracket: Positioned to bring out the rest of the geometry and give clearance to pedal through technical rock gardens, climb with power and stay flickable.

    • Smooth and predictable compliance from Chumba Oversized Select Double Butted Tubing, built of the best tubing available.

    • The Sendero steel is designed to unlock technical trail features, put a smile on your face and of course to SEND IT!

    • Made in USA quality, handmade to order.

    • CHUMBA Oversized Select Double Butted Tubing and PMW stainless steel sliding dropouts, mean this bike will exceed your expectations and provide years of reliable trail service. Oversized tubing yields larger tube miters for strength.

    • A custom bent seat tube brings together a short rear end, steep seat tube angle and maximum tire clearance.

    • Clean thoughtful cable routing w/ stainless steel braze-ons.

    • Flawless frame miters, all tubes are heat sunk and argon purged when welded to prevent distortion and material thinning.

    • Machined head tube for tapered or straight forks.

    • Many frame customizations are available.

  • Now available in two tubesets! Our Chumba Oversized Select Double Butted Tubeset has always been trusted for trail riding, bikepacking. Prized for its value, dent resistance & balance of compliance/strength.

For those looking for a more race performance tubeset we offer a Velospec Heat Treated (USA made) Tubeset. Available in the frame customizations as an add-on. For lighter frame weight and increased performance characteristics. The tubing is air hardened at weld zones which increases its fatigue strength and resistance to external forces. While heat treatment adds strength, these tubes offer increased elongation % for a compliant ride. The stuff of magic? We think so.

  • The Sendero mountain bike is designed to be extremely compatible with a wide range of tire sizes, hub options and fork lengths. Frames come with dropout inserts, rear axle and seatpost clamp.
