New Video: Alexandera Houchin's Soggy CTR, New Course Record!
Alexandera set out with her partner Johnny, and good friend Young Connor to pedal to the start of the 2022 Colorado Trail race. They met rainy skies, thieving bunnies, and amazing hosts along the way! The CTR was no different! Rainy skies, cold, lonely nights, and several bloody noses later, Alexandera went on to set a new women’s course record.
They started in Durango, leaving their vehicles at a friends place and pedaled (and worked some magic) to make it to Denver 2 weeks later. The journey wouldn’t have been possible without all the hospitality from friends along the way.
After catching a nasty cold early on in their tour, Alexandera recovered (but still suffered from asthma symptoms throughout the race) and self documented bits of her race. Due to the large amount of rain, gathering video was often last on her list of things to do, but she caught some fun little snippets throughout her journey. She finished the race in just over 6 days on her Chumba Sendero Ti single speed. She was geared 32x22.
